What we do, and what we do not

We treat musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions: post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, low back pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and women's health including post-natal recovery.

We do not offer osteopathy, sports massage or personal training. If what you need falls outside physiotherapy we will say so on the phone, rather than at the end of a session.

No outcome can be promised in advance. Recovery depends on the condition, how long it has been present, and the work done between sessions. At the first appointment we will tell you what can reasonably be expected, and we review it as treatment goes on.

What we treat

Self-referral is accepted for most conditions; a GP or consultant letter is helpful where one exists.

Musculoskeletal rehabilitation

£52 per session

After a fracture, joint replacement or ligament reconstruction, and for sprains and tendon problems. Initial assessment, then thirty-minute sessions.

Respiratory physiotherapy

£52 per session

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, and recovery after a hospital admission. Airway clearance and exercise tolerance.

Women's health

£58 per session

Post-natal recovery, pelvic floor rehabilitation and stress incontinence. Always with a female practitioner, in a closed treatment room.

Spinal rehabilitation

£52 per session

Persistent low back and neck pain, and recovery after disc surgery. Includes a home exercise programme to continue between sessions.

How treatment works

From the first call to the last appointment.

  1. 01

    You ring us

Reception asks what the problem is, how long it has been there and whether you have seen a doctor. That determines the wait and the practitioner.

    5 minutes

  2. 02

    Initial assessment

A longer session for examination and setting goals. With your consent we write to your GP.

    45 minutes

  3. 03

    Treatment sessions

Individual, thirty minutes, at a fixed day and time wherever possible — regularity matters more than intensity.

    As required

  4. 04

    Review

Roughly every ten appointments we reassess and decide together whether to continue, change or stop.

    Every 10 sessions
